For those who would like to start creating artwork in 3D... I recommend playing with some of the free programs out there just to get a feel for it. Over at the ZBrush forums they have a posting that started in 2003 with a listing of more free programs than you'll know what to do with.
See the posting here: www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/show… ...I would recommend skipping to the last page and working backward since some of the links in the beginning no longer work but it's an excellent resource.
For professional programs, I highly recommend...
3DSMax: usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/…
Modo: www.luxology.com/
Maya: usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/…
Cinema 4D: www.maxon.net/pages/products/c…
ZBrush: www.pixologic.com/home.php
I believe all of the professional programs have trial versions or "personal learning editions" which you can try out for free.
That should be more than enough to get started. If anybody has any questions... don't hesitate to ask.
Good luck to all!

And now... a little artist humor...
An artist asked the gallery owner if there had been any interest in his paintings on display at that time.
"I have good news and bad news," the owner replied. "The good news is that a gentleman inquired about your work and wondered if it would appreciate in value after your death. When I told him it would, he bought all 15 of your paintings."
"That's wonderful," the artist exclaimed. "What's the bad news?"
"The guy was your doctor..."

Happy New Year to all and I'm glad to be back!
It's a new year and I am very happy to finally be back on deviantART. Work and life has kept me away for too long but it's time, once again, to get inspired by all the amazing artists who make dA their home and I can't wait to start creating again. I see dA has changed just a bit since I've been away. I have a feeling it's gonna take me a bit of time to get up to speed again but I'm looking forward to it.
It's good to be back!!!

10,000 Pageviews!
I usually don't really care about things like this but I'll have to admit that finally reaching 10,000 pageviews seems like a nice little accomplishment... I remember how long it took me to just get a thousand. However, I have a long way to go to catch up to the deviants that have 250,000 or 500,000 or even a million or more!
Next stop... 100,000!

Good selection!
I started with 3d Studio max version 1.5 or 2 then I switched to maya, I can't remember the version though !
At the beginning I was totally crazy about 3d, couldn't select a specific one. But Finally I became very interested in C4d when I saw people make eye catching abstract work in Cinema 4d.
After then I'm still with it. But I don't know much about abstract .
